GOD’S POWER
What is the power of God?
• “The gospel of Christ…is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).
• “The preaching of the cross is to them that perish (the unbeliever and the worldly-wise) foolishness; but unto us which are saved (believers) it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).
• “Christ died for our sins” (1 Corinthians 15:3).
"Bearing shame and scoffing rude, In my place condemned He stood; Sealed my pardon with His blood; Hallelujah! What a Savior!”

Why is the gospel the power of God?
• Because what man can do or what he has done cannot save him. “By grace are ye saved through faith…not of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
• “We have redemption through His (Christ’s) blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
Why is the gospel powerful?
• The gospel is powerful because the believing sinner is baptized by a spiritual baptism: “By one Spirit are we (believers) all baptized into one Body (the Body of Christ)” (1Corinthians 12:13).
• The believing sinner has eternal life: “Whosoever believeth in Him (Christ) should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:15).
• The believer has been sealed by the Holy Spirit: “In whom (Christ) also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).
. A believer is "kept by the power of God" (I Peter 1:5).
• Nothing “shall be able to separate us (believers) from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39).
• “All things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 8:28).
If you are not a believer, why not receive God’s great gift, the Lord Jesus Christ?
